Check Our Standards Before Sharing Your Article.

Work Futurefringe.co.uk explores workplace culture, research, and design. Our readers are skilled workplace design decision-makers. We don’t post articles assuming they’re ignorant.

Write As Though You’re A Peer.

We ask authors to address an issue or notion they’ve tested (or think ought to be tested). It can include a recent project and should offer practical information for readers, such as what can be done, what others have done, or “working” rules, processes, and/or work environments.

Current Practitioners Must Write.

Commercial architecture and design articles should give practical takeaways. Work Futurefringe.co.uk’s readership is worldwide, thus articles should focus on best practices globally.

After your pitch is accepted, you may write the whole article. Work Futurefringe.co.uk only accepts original, unpublished articles (print or electronic).

Before publishing, we go through multiple edits. We’ll change your article’s structure and title. If we make modifications, it’s because we think the revised version will help your concept reach more people.

Voice

Always use the third person. Write in the third person. When discussing hypothetical situations, avoid slang. Spell out acronyms before using them in parenthesis.

Length

Even 2,500-word stories maintain our audience’s interest. Our readership is spending more time on our site and reading lengthier articles. Shorter pieces still perform well, so don’t overextend.

Images

We demand four high-quality photographs for each piece to illustrate your proposal. High-resolution photos only. 300 dpi or 1MB JPEG is required. JPEGs only. Please provide picture files individually instead of including them in Word documents, since this lowers image quality.

Prepared To Pitch? Your Article Needs The Following:

  • 800 words minimum.
  • At least four high-quality, high-res images with captions and credit. (100mb max jpeg)
  • Article promotion via social media.
  • Author’s linkedin.
  • Author’s photo and bio (be sure to include if you hold a position on any workplace association boards).
  • Keep titles under 75 characters, including spaces.
  • No footnotes/endnotes. Cite if necessary.
  • Send no pdfs.
  • Self-promotional/advertorial pieces will be rejected (this includes links)
  • We publish only original content.

Hints:

  • All submissions must be original; no repeats.
  • Our readers love data-driven research. As a potential contributor, you must verify all facts before submitting your work.
  • Don’t be afraid of complex issues. Write as if you’re talking to a colleague.
